Burlington Transitional Living Center, Inc.
Our Mission Statement:
Our mission is to provide families and individuals with temporary shelter and basic necessities while assisting them in gaining skills to become self-sufficient, employed, and independent.
“For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.” (Matthew 25:35-36)
Resolving homelessness is complex. It requires a collaborative effort that begins with meeting immediate needs for food and shelter but extends much further to help achieve independence and alleviate the root causes of poverty.
Whether you are compelled by the national movement to end homelessness or you just believe that no one in your community should go without a safe, stable place to call home you have the opportunity to make a difference. The work being done at Burlington Transitional Living Center, Inc. (also known as “TLC”) changes the lives of the families we serve by providing them with the needed services to achieve and maintain a place to call home and to be successful in life.
TLC receives HUD funding and uses a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) to collect data. Personal information will be collected for HMIS only when it is needed to provide services, when it is needed for another specific purpose of the agency where a client is receiving services, or when it is required by law. More information regarding the use of HMIS can be found in the “HMIS Policies and Procedures” on the State of Wisconsin website, including the Baseline Privacy Notice currently found on pages 17-20 of the “HMIS Policies and Procedures”.
